The LDSC Production Print Lead is responsible for leading a large team in a production print environment producing quality output within LMS and Client standards.  This employee is expected to monitor day-to-day output and organizing details required to meet LMS policies and procedures at a print production site location.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work along other LDSC Associates and optimize their productivity.
  • Implement all LDSC production policies and procedures.
  • Interface with customers, sales personnel and management as required to achieve LDSC objectives.
  • Exercise good business judgment, initiative and creativity.
  • Personally operate various LDSC equipment when necessary.
  • Suggest areas of improvement for site.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, professional and productive work environment.
    • Provide customer satisfaction.
    • Complete quality work on a timely basis.
    • Deal with customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
    • Work with PC and Microsoft Suite software.
  • Responsible for productivity monitoring, quality and quantity requirements.
  • Have basic knowledge of costs and cost control.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.
  • High quality production printing skills as specialist with finishing/bindery experience and skills.
  • Responsible for understanding, staying updated on, and abiding by the Employee Handbook as written.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications/Requirements:  

  • Reports to the LDSC site full time. 
  • Above average technical skills - ability to upload files into multiple systems and work with different print drivers.
  • Excellent computer skills - Microsoft Office Suite (above average with Excel and Outlook) and Adobe Creative Suite products including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat Pro. 
  • Pre-flight and file set-up skills – ability to mail merge, perform address cleansing, edit, impose and adjust files as needed.
  • Knowledge of and Ability to work with Loffler's IOnS Job Submission Software – Enter orders, help with billing, and be able to assist clients with questions.
  • Good communication skills – verbal, written, electronic.
  • Good positive attitude, reliable, and customer service skills - ability to stay positive under stressful situations.           
  • Good organizational skills - multi-tasking - attention to detail.
  • Takes direction well and follow up with detail.
  • Understanding of the print industry and expectations in the shop and with client.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Works well under pressure and achieve deadlines.
  • Ability to work with detailed information accurately.
  • Ability to communicate both written and orally.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Valid Driver's license and clean driving record may be required.

 

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Prior 4 years of production print experience.
  • Prior customer service experience preferred.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervises LDSC Team Members.
  • Ability to backup and support other Leads in the shop.
